Under 7 Football
Our Under 7s took part in their first football blitz of the new season in Ballygunner last Saturday morning. We played three games and picked up two wins from our outing. In the first game we played Sacred Heart, Gaultir in the second and Ferrybank in the last. The team enjoyed their first taste of competition and with no better way by winning by 2 goals to nil in both the first and last games and narrowly lost out to Gaultir. The panel for the games were: Dillon Ryan, Jared O’Keeffe, Tommy Walsh, Ross Byrne, Alex Walsh, Evan Flanagan, Sean Flynn, Adam Regan, Sam O’Byrne-Russell, Mark O’Connor. Well done to all those who took part. These are the next generation of Sion footballers in the making.Intermediate/Junior
The fixtures for the Intermediate and Junior Hurling & Football were made last week. In the Intermediate Championship we will take on Portlaw on Saturday 4th May at 5pm in Kill. Round two we face St. Saviours on Saturday 11th May in Dunhill. Round 3 we take on Dunhill on weekend of the 8th/9th. In the Junior Hurling we kick off on 4th April against Passage at home. Round two is against Roanmore on 26th April. Junior Football starts on 12th April when we face tough opposition of Kill in Sion. A week later it is Erins Own in Poleberry. We will be hosting the WLRfm Radio Fun Quiz in aid of the Waterford County Teams Training Funds on Thursday 21st February at 8:30pm sharp. Teams of 3 or 4, €10 per person. There will be prizes for the winning table on the night, along with a place in the final a week later, with prizes of Azzurri! Looking forward to seen all of you then. The Last Man Standing Competition started back last weekend. We have our first casualty after just two weeks! Plenty left with only one life! Be careful, next one and you are out! Activation of the 2013 Waterford GAA Club Season passes has commenced and will continue until the end of February. Season Ticket holders should present themselves with the Personal Details section of the Season Ticket leaflet completed and the Season Ticket card to either Fraher Field or Walsh Park. Days and times for each venue are below, no appointment is necessary. A digital image of the Season Ticket Holder shall be taken during the activation process. Please note that it will also be possible to purchase Club Season Tickets during the activation times below. Walsh Park County Office: Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10am – 12.30pm and Wednesday evenings 5pm – 7pm. The following are the times for our Juvenile team’s training on Saturday morning in the club. New comers are always welcome and hurley’s and helmets can be supplied.Ages and times below
Age 5 & 6 – Boys (Born in 2008 and 2007) – 11 am to 12 noon
Age 7 & 8 – Boys (Born in 2006 and 2005) – 12 noon to 1pm
Age 9 & 10 – Boys (Born in 2004 and 2003) – 1pm to 2pm (note change of time for this group )
