Mount Sion Gaa Club Notes
Junior Hurling Championship
The first championship of the year kicked off with a poor performance against Passage in Mount Sion. Passage set the early pace with two points before Johnny Hayes opened Sion’s account with a point. Jamie O’Meara got Sion’s second score with Paul Browne also finding his range from a placed ball. Passage ran riot in the second quarter with several unanswered points. Sion kept the chase with points from Johnny Hayes and Pappy Bowe. Sion trailed at half time by six points. Sion pointed just after the break through Jamie O’Meara from a free. Passage responded with two points. Daniel Kelly, Johnny Hayes and Evan Curran all pointed but Passage again, now with the wind at their backs hit Sion for four unanswered points. Again Hayes pointed but would rue a chance from the penalty spot as the ball crashed off the crossbar and cleared. Daniel Kelly got Sion’s last point but Passage closed out the game with an emphatic eleven point win. Final score Cnoc Síon 0-13 to Passage 0-24. The next round will take place in three weeks time against Roanmore.Ned Cullen
The club would like to extend our sincere sympathies to the Cullen and Whelan family on the death of Ned Cullen who passed away on Tuesday. Two of Ned’s grandchildren Edward Cullen and Jack Whelan both play for our Under 14 and Under 16 team respectively. Ar dheis Dé go raibh Sé.

Well done to all involved.
