Mount Sion Gaa Club Notes
All Ireland Champions!
Congratulations to the Waterford Minor Hurlers, the management and all involved on claiming Waterford’s third Minor All Ireland Title! Our club was well represented by the skilful and star of the future, Austin Gleeson, who marshalled the defence from centre-back. Also involved were Sean Power who manages the team and Anthony Flanagan, who is Physio to the team. The County celebrations will continue long into the week, starting with the home coming on Monday night in the City! Congratulations once again!Jim Greene
Well done to Jim Greene, who was presented to the crowd in Croke Park last Sunday on a team of the 1980s!!! It was a great honour for Jim and the club alike.Under 13 Eastern Champions!
Our Under 13s are through to the County Final next Saturday, after a perfect performance against near city rivals Roanmore. Our lads hit the net no more than seven times in the game and showed that the future of Sion hurling is bright! Final score: Cnoc Síon 7-4 to Roanmore 0-4.
This young side are progressing into a fine team with great potential. Well done to all involved last Saturday and we would like to wish young Eoghan Power who broke his collarbone in the game, a speedy recovery. He will be a big loss for next week, but I’m sure the boys will lift their game for the big occasion. I would urge all our supporters to get down to Walsh Park next Saturday and support the boys! Throw in at 12:30pm! Best of luck!!
