Tallow 1-7
Our Seniors lining out in their new all white strip opened their County Championship campaign against Tallow in a showery Fraher Field on Saturday night last . Sion were first out of the blocks with a well taken point from Austin Gleeson followed by two Tony Browne frees in the opening few minutes before Tallow responded with a Thomas Ryan point , Eoin McGrath replied with a point from play but for the rest of the half it was frees that dominated the scoring on both sides , most notable of these was a long range Austin Gleeson effort from his own 45 just before half time leaving the scoreline at the break Mount Sion 0-10 Tallow 0-4. The second half started with Tony Browne pointing from another free followed by what was surely the score of the match when Gleeson took off on a run from his own half before placing the ball between the sticks for a great solo effort , after this it was all Tallow as they tried to reduce the deficit and were rewarded with a goal on 47 minutes , but Sion rallied well and with further points from the sticks of McGrath and Browne and a number of fine saves from Ian O Regan the Monastery men closed out the game on a scoreline of 0-15 to 1-7 ,well done on the result lads and a special mention to Martin O Neill who returned to action after the serious injury he received last year .Next up is Ballyduff Upper in the same venue on Friday night at 7pm .Under 14 Eastern Feile
Mount Sion 3-11
Roanmore 2-3
The Under 14s played Roanmore on Thursday in De La Salle Cleaboy and with a PJ Fanning goal and the yellow helmetted Jordan Roche reminiscent of a young Martin O Neill knocking over the points from frees went into the break 1-5 to 0-2 , in the second half Roanmore piled on the pressure but Luke O Brien at centre back was well up to the task ably assisted by Charlie Costello and Alan Kirwan , goals from Jack Meaney and PJ Fanning sealed the result at 3-11 to 2-3 . Well done on a great team performance lads and best of luck in the Final on Tuesday night against De La Salle in Walsh Park !Minor Football

An Gaeltacht 4-9
The Minor Footballers having qualified for the quarter final on the back of a good result against St Marys last month travelled to Leamybrien on Tuesday night to face An Gaeltacht , in truth they were never in trouble with the returning Evan Curran blitzing the defence with four goals , not to be outdone Mikey Daykin notched another two with Captain Darren Gray and Dylan Sheridan also finding the back of the net .Final Score Mount Sion 8-11 An Gaeltacht 4-9 , well done lads , best of luck in the semi final !Junior Hurling

Passage 1-18
Our Junior Hurlers got their championship under way with Passage visiting Mount Sion on Friday last. Sion fell behind early with Passage pointing from a free. Cian O’Regan pointed from a free to equalise. Both sides traded points with Sion finally getting on top with Darren Finn, Brian Power and O’Regan all pointing. Sion finished out the half stronger with five points to spare at half time.
Against the breeze in the second half Sion quickly fell behind with Passage pointing and followed by a goal from a 21 yard free. Mikey Daykin levelled with a point from down the right hand wing. Passage kept their roll going with another brace of points. The visitors finished the game stronger with Sion needing a big improvement for next week’s outing against Clonea in Clonea on Thursday night at 7pm. Final score Cnoc Síon 0-13 to Passage 1-18.
