Cnoc Sion 1-15
Clonea 1-12
The Juniors returned to action on Friday last to face Clonea in a re-arranged game in the club, Sion opened the scoring with a Johnny Hayes point followed by a Cian O Regan free to go two points ahead, Clonea replied with a point and were then denied by the tenacious Stephen “Scratchy” Wilmott with a brilliant goal line clearance, next point was a family affair with Ian “Bomb” Power setting up brother Clive “Parish” to keep the two point cushion between the teams, some more O Regan frees and points from Hayes and Darren Finn left Sion going into the break with a one point lead, half time score Cnoc Sion 0-8 Clonea 0-7. Clonea got the second half off to the perfect start with a goal and a point and were looking stronger until Sion brought on their secret weapon Brian “Chick” Hennessy, the evergreen veteran made an immediate impact by setting up Darren Finn who gratefully blasted the ball past the Clonea keeper, Hennessy then pointed from a free before the visitors replied with two unanswered points, after this Sion’s experience started to show through with points from Jamie O Meara, O Regan and Finn to finish out the game 1-15 to 1-12, well done lads on a battling performance, next up is Roanmore in the club on Friday night.Dartathon
