Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

New Darts League

There is a new darts league starting this February in the club, the format will be weekly games running over the course of a few months with a finals night later in the year. There will be cash prizes involved and also money going towards the juvenile club, if anyone is interested or wants further information please contact Kenny Stafford. Closing date for entry is 10th February.

Senior Championship

The draw for the group stages of the 2016 Senior Hurling Championship was made at the County Board meeting on Monday last with Sion being drawn in Group 2 along with Tallow , Fourmilewater , Roanmore, Abbeyside and Cappoquin with the games being played in the following order,
Round 1 V Cappoquin,
Round 2 V Fourmilewater
Round 3 V Roanmore,
Round 4 V Abbeyside,
Round 5 V Tallow.
Keep an eye on social media and the website for times and dates when they come to hand.

Waterford Under 21’s

Also at Monday’s County board meeting Sean Power was ratified as the Under 21 Waterford Hurling manager for 2016, Sean has a wealth of success and experience coaching with both the club and county and we wish him and his selectors the very best for the year ahead.

Waterford GAA Season Ticket

 The Waterford GAA Club Season Ticket is now available to purchase online. Ticket activations begin next week and tickets can also be bought at Elverys Sports, Ger Wyleys and the offices in Walsh Park, prices at  €65 for OAPs and €100 for Adults which is great value for any GAA fans around the County.

 

Tesco Tokens

The Tesco Tokens promotion continues in Tesco Ardkeen this week and thanks everyone who put their tokens in the box, this is a great fundraiser for the club so we would ask as many of our members to do their shopping out there if possible and spread the word to all your family and friends if they’re out there shopping to put their tokens in the box to help raise much needed funds for the club.

Last Man Standing

No Last Man Standing  due to the FA Cup but it returns this week, best of luck to all our players and don’t forget to check the page on the website  to see how everyone got on in the first week.Last Man standing

Mount Sion Clubhouse

Our club house is the perfect venue for your needs, if you have a family event coming up we can cater for all size parties from small private events to large gatherings, we have a spacious function room with private bar available for hire for all occasions including Birthdays, Christenings, Weddings, Confirmations, Communions, etc, please contact our Bar Manager Michael Ryan for more information on 051-372648 or call up and see him

For a post match drink or chat or to watch the latest sporting event on the big screen we have all the Sports channels available in our spacious bar where on Thursday nights it’s Darts night with our new league starting up soon and on Fridays we have cards which are open to all and there are great prizes on offer, check out our website for more info and photos.
