Mount Sion GAA Club Notes
Senior League
Cnoc Sion 0-10
Passage 1-11
Passage was the destination for the first competitive game of 2016 for our Seniors on Saturday last as the first round of the Sargent Cup/Senior League took place, on a bitterly cold day for hurling the home team took the advantage while both sides were coming to grips with the conditions and built up a strong lead by the break. The second half saw a much improved performance from Sion with Stephen Roche on free taking duties pulling us back into the game before a Passage goal leaving stand-in keeper Gavin Carroll no chance effectively killed off the game in the home team’s favour, final score Cnoc Sion 0-10 Passage 1-11, next match is against Ballyduff Upper in a few week’s time .
Deise Draw
The first Deise Draw of 2016 took place in Stradbally on Friday night last and unfortunately we had no winners this time around, as this is one of the main fundraisers for the club we would encourage as many members and their families as possible to participate, as well as helping your club you are also in a great draw with many good prizes on offer.
