With the Minor Hurling Championship just over the horizon we are proud to welcome John Kennedy Construction as our new shirt sponsor for our Minors, John is a well known face around the club and from a family steeped in Mount Sion and we’re proud to have him on board, check out John’s facebook page for recent examples of his work and contact details JK Construction, thanks once again to John and his family and as always we ask our members to support our sponsors wherever possible.Junior Hurling
In a top of the table clash on Thursday last our Junior B Hurlers took on De La Salle in the club with both clubs 100% record at stake in this year’s tournament, in a game that won’t last long in the memory the visitors just edged out Sion on a scoreline of 1-14 to 0-11 inflicting the first defeat of the campaign on Pappy’s charges, there is now a break of a month before the next game and a big improvement is needed if they are to progress to the knockout stages.Know Your Sport

Under 12’s
Our Under 12’s were invited to the St Martins of Wexford blitz on Saturday last and were paired in the group with the hosts, Young Irelands from Kilkenny Wexford’s OuLart De Ballagh. The first game against St Martins was a tight affair which Sion won by 3 points followed by a comprehensive defeat of Young Ireland which left the final game with OuLart as the decider in the group, in an evenly contested game neither team could be seperated and it ended in a draw leaving Sion undefeated on the day, well done to this great bunch of lads who once again represented their families and their club with distinction.Ladies Football
Our Ladies footballers had a great day on Monday last in Modeligo in the Mary Walsh charity tournament getting to the final of the Junior A division and were unlucky to lose to a much more experienced team in Comeragh Rangers but to their credit stuck it out right till the end, Jessica Devereaux and Sally Foskin scored two fantastic goals in the final and other scorers on the day were Kelsey Byrne and Leanna Kenneally, thanks especially go to our supporters who were out in the lashing rain cheering us on ensuring a great start to the season!Deise Draw
