Senior Hurling Championship

Cnoc Sion 1-14

Passage 1-20

The Seniors took on Passage in Round 2 of the County Championship buoyed by the dramatic win against Roanmore the previous week, an even first half saw the balance of play shift between both sides with Sion having the better of the first quarter before Passage got into gear and took the lead, a Passage goal just before half time would have made it a three point game at the break but for two Martin F. O’Neill points which reduced the deficit to the minimum for Sion, half time score Cnoc Sion 0-10 Passage 1-08, Passage started the second half the brighter and looked to be taking a commanding lead before Austin Gleeson with his first touch of the game blasted to the back of the net to level the game at 1-14 apiece, alas this was to be just a consolation as Passage powered on to score six unanswered points winning the game on a scoreline of 1-20 to 1-14, tough luck all round, next game in the Championship is scheduled for July, Team Ian O’Regan, Mark Hoban, Stephen O’Neill, Barry Ryan, Donal Power(0-01)(Evan McGrath), Peter Penkert, Mikey Daykin, Aaron Dempsey (0-01), Luke O’Brien, John Kennedy (Austin Gleeson 1-00), Jack Meaney (Sean Colfer),  Evan Curran(Ed Cullen),Martin F.O’Neill(0-08), Stephen Roche (0-03), Alan Kirwan (0-01).

Wedding Bells

Congratulations to Sarah Flynn and Mark Caulfield who were married on Saturday last, Sarah is a member of the well known Flynn family in the club and we wish the happy couple all the best for the years ahead !

– Under 16 Football v Affane in Cappoquin at 7pm

Friday 13th April
– Minor Hurling Challenge v De La Salle in Gracedieu at 6:30pm
– Under 12 City League v Ferrybank in Ferrybank at 6:30pm
– Junior B Hurling Challenge v Naomh Pól in Mount Sion (Time TBC)

Saturday 14th April
– Under 10 Blue Team v St. Mollerans in Mount Sion at 11:30am
– Under 10 White Team v De La Salle in Gracedieu at 11:30am.

Camogie

The camogie club is now part of the Tesco community fund running in the Poleberry store, anyone in there can pop a few blue tokens in our jar to help raise some funds, training continues on Mondays for both groups 4-7’s and 8-14’s 6-7 pm please bring runners, new players are always welcome.

Ladies Football

Our Ladies Football team are still looking for players for the upcoming season, training takes place on the astroturf on Sundays 11-12 for all girls aged 13 and older and if there are any girls interested we’d be delighted to see you up there!

Mount Sion Clubhouse

Our club house is the perfect venue for all your needs. If you have a family event coming up we can cater for all size parties from small private events to large gatherings, we have a spacious function room with private bar available for hire for all occasions including Birthdays, Christenings, Weddings, Confirmations, Communions, etc, please contact our Bar Manager Michael Ryan for more information on 051-372648 or call up and see him

Coming up in 2018 we have a great new programme of entertainment taking place in the club with Tina and her committee working hard to bring a variety of acts to the club, more details to follow, check out our website for more info and photos.
