Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

Junior Football

Cnoc Sion 1-11

Dunhill 0-13

Following a long hiatus when it seemed it was never going to be played and a late start due to a malfunctioning floodlight the Junior Football semi final took place on Tuesday night last in Carriganore against Dunhill, a pulsating tie ensued with neither giving the other an inch, Sion’s dual stars were to the fore with Martin F. O’Neill putting away his penalty with aplomb and new star Sean Glynn getting  both the equaliser and winner to send Sion through to the final on a winning margin of 1-11 to 0-13, the final is down for decision next weekend and when we have details it will be posted in all the usual outlets.

Wedding Bells

Felicitations all round to two newly wed Mount Sion couples over the weekend, Clive “Parish”Power became the first of that famous clan to tie the knot when he married the lovely Michelle in the classic surroundings of the medieval museum and the club was looking resplendent when Tucker and Fiona had their big day there on Friday, congratulations all round from everyone in Mount Sion!

Camogie

Training for Under 8’s on Mondays in Carrickpherish Hall in Gracedieu 6-7pm
€2 per child or €3 per family

Training for Under 12’s on Tuesdays in Presentation School Hall 6-7pm and Saturday 12-1pm in the AstroTurf in Mount Sion club grounds.

 

Entertainment

Back by popular demand the Solitary Man returns to Mount Sion when the Neil Diamond Experience takes to the stage again on Saturday night next at 9-30, tickets at €5 are available from behind the bar or from Tina.

Club Mass

The annual Club Mass for deceased members of Mount Sion takes place in the Edmund Rice Chapel on Thursday November 29th at 8pm, all are welcome.

Our club house is the perfect venue for all your needs.
