Mount Sion GAA Club Notes
Junior Football Final
Cnoc Sion 1-11
Ferrybank 0-05
After their thrilling one point win over Dunhill in the semi final during the week the Junior Footballers took on Ferrybank in the Eastern final in Carriganore on Sunday last, the damp conditions didn’t make for flowing football and scores were hard to come by with Sion grinding out a one lead at the break, half time score Cnoc Sion 0-04 Ferrybank 0-03, Sion upped gears in the second half when Ian Galgey was put through on goal and he calmly slotted the ball past the keeper for the game’s only goal, points from Martin F O’Neill and man of the match Stephen Roche put the game beyond Ferrybank’s reach, as the game drew to a close some of the older stalwarts made an appearance from the bench and Michael “Pugs’ Power’s brief cameo at the end must surely have set a new record for shortest time on the pitch ! Final score Cnoc Sion 1-11 Ferrybank 0-05, well done to all involved and best wishes for the county final against Shamrocks next Saturday at 2pm in Walsh Park.

Portlaw/Ballyduff 2-12
The Under 21’s got their campaign off to winning ways on Saturday last when they beat Portlaw/Ballyduff in Dunhill, despite leading by seven points at one stage Sion had to withstand a late onslaught and were glad when the final whistle blew with them leading by a single point, final score Cnoc Sion 2-13 Portlaw/Ballyduff 2-12, this result now sets up a semi final meeting with Ballygunner, best wishes to Eddie Cullen from all his teammates and wider club community as he recovers from a serious hand injury he picked up in the game.Deise Draw
