Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

Senior Hurling League

The Seniors were in action in the League final against Ballygunner on Friday night last in Walsh Park, a competitive game ensued with Ballygunner running out winners by a four point margin, final score Cnoc Sion 1-16 Ballygunner 1-16.

Junior A Hurling League

On Thursday in Walsh Park the Junior A’s played out a thriller in their League Final against Roanmore in Walsh Park, Sion just had the upper hand to finish out 1-21 to 0-23 in a tense final few minutes, well done to all involved.

Junior B Hurling

To cap off a good week for both Junior teams our Junior B team overcame Geraldine’s in Leamybrien to seal their League title on Sunday last, great result for our young and not so young players!

Paddy Sheridan Tournament

The annual Paddy Sheridan Under 11 tournament took place in the club on Saturday last, De La Salle, Ferrybank, and Ballyduff Lower were the visitors on the day, the hurling played was a fitting tribute to one of Mount Sion’s finest whose dedication to the club will never be forgotten, well done to De La Salle who were the winners on the day, special thanks to Paddy’s family for allowing us to host the tournament in his memory and to everyone involved who helped out on the day.

Wedding Bells

Massive congratulations to Stephen O’Neill and Orla Mooney who were married recently in Co Tipperary, best wishes to the happy couple from everyone in Mount Sion.

LGFA

Congratulations and well deserved winners to our Under 14 Gaelic girls on their County Final win on Saturday, what an amazing achievement in their first year, well done to Gemma and Kerri Anne for all their incredible work over the year.

Mount Sion Summer Camp

We are running our annual Summer Camp this year on Wednesday 14th August for 3 days, time 10-2, cost €30, age from 7-12 years, contact Micheal power for details.

Deise Draw

This year’s Deise Draw starts in July, there are six draws in total with the club benefitting from every ticket sold, tickets are available from all the usual sources and from Club Co-ordinator Kenny Stafford.
