Mount Sion GAA Club Notes
Minor Hurling
Following the good result against Ballygunner previously the Minors were hoping to continue this good run of form when Abbeyside were the visitors to the club on Wednesday night last, on the night’s performance Abbeyside were the better team and this was borne out the in the result which saw them win on a score line of 2-19 to 2-09 and more disappointingly for Sion there were some discipline issues which added to the frustration of the result, next game is against Roanmore on August 14th and hopefully a more positive performance will be forthcoming.
Junior B Hurling
The Junior B’s are well on course in their group with another good win over St Mollerans during the week , final score Cnoc Sion 3-24 Mollerans 3-10
Under 12 Football
Following their exploits in the Hurling Championship our Under 12’s are now playing in the Div 3 football championship which they got off to a great start on Friday night with a comprehensive win over St Mary’s, well done lads.
Open Mic Night
The Mount Sion Choir have been creating some major ripples in the local music scene lately and as part of their ongoing fundraising effort to travel to London they will be hosting an open mic night in the club on Saturday next August 11th, tickets 5 euro can be got on the door on the night.
Wedding Bells
It was a Waterford Cork match of a different kind on Saturday last when a great clubman Pat Kelly married Lisa Condon, congratulations to Pat and Lisa and best wishes for your future from everyone in the club !
