Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

Minor Hurling

The Minors took to the pitch on Saturday last in atrocious conditions against Ballygunner in a rain soaked Walsh Park hoping to reach the County final for a third year in a row, scores were hard to come by on the day for both teams but Ballygunner proved too strong in the second half and went on to win the game by a number of points, tough luck to all involved but there are many positives that can be taken from this year’s campaign with some good results along the way.

Under 13 Hurling

Also in Walsh park on Saturday the Under 13’s faced off against Ballygunner in the County final, conditions underfoot made for a low scoring game and Sion were just unlucky to be outpointed by the opposition, well done to this young squad who played  lot of entertaining hurling on their way to the final and were a credit to their families and coaches.

Camogie

From tomorrow (Monday) the 4-10 group will be training in the Carrickpherish Hall in Gracedieu and every Monday from then, cost is €2 per child or €3 for family. The older girls are still up in Mount Sion from 6-7 on Mondays and Fridays.

Entertainment

Back by popular demand the Garth Brooks tribute act returns to the club on Saturday 19th October, tickets available from Tina and behind the bar.

Bingo

We have Bingo in the club from Thursday night, doors at 7 and eyes down at 8! Please see the poster for more details.

Circuit Training

Circuit training continues on Tuesday nights with Pat Kelly, there are only three more weeks left so to ensure your place please contact Michael “Pugs” Power, time 7pm -8pm, class is open to all over 18’s, cost €5

Mount Sion Clubhouse

Our club house is the perfect venue for all your needs.
