Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

 

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

As is tradition our younger hurlers will be participating in the Waterford St. Patrick’s Day parade on Sunday next March 17th, the meeting and pick up point will be the school with coaaches letting parents know times during the week, following the parade all the sport will be shown in the club with music on later in the evening.

 

Minor Football

The Minor Footballers took on St. Mollerans on Friday night last and given the conditions the low scoring draw of 1-04 to 0-07 was no surprise, there will now be a break until the knockout stages of this tournament.

 

Last Man Standing

Last Second round of Last Man Standing continued this weekend and Spurs and Chelsea left down quite a few of our players. Updated results are on the page on the website! Last man Standing

Registration

It’s that time of the year once again when registration comes up for renewal, thanks to everyone who already paid up, full details are on the registration page on the website.

Camogie

 The Under 12-14s are back training in the Astro turf in Mount Sion  from 6-7 on Mondays and Fridays, our Under 8-10s are still in Carrickpherish hall for another few weeks, Mount Sion Camogie will be walking in the parade this year, we are meeting in the school hall in Barrack Street at 12pm and will be walking to the Glen with the parade starting at 1pm, please wear jerseys or half zips if they have them and don’t forget to wrap up well.

Juvenile Academy

The Mount Sion Juvenile Academy is back up and running in the school yard on Saturday mornings for our youngest hurlers from 4 years and upwards, new players are always welcome and our coaches would be delighted to see them, for details please contact Peter Walsh.

Ladies Football

Training for Ladies Football continues on Fridays at 5-45 with players on the pitch for 6-7, this year we will be fielding two teams at both Minor and Under 16 levels and girls between 15 and 18 are always welcome to join our squads,  just call up any Friday to meet the girls and their trainers.

Mount Sion Clubhouse

Our club house is the perfect venue for all your needs. If you have a family event coming up we can cater for all size parties from small private events to large gatherings, we have a spacious function room with private bar available for hire for all occasions including Birthdays, Christenings, Weddings, Confirmations, Communions, etc, please contact our Bar Manager Michael Ryan for more information on 051-372648 or call up and see him.
